Bollywood romantic comedy, Biwi O Biwi, directed by Rahul Rawail and written by Abrar Ali was released on May 15, 1981. The movie starred Randhir Kapoor and Poonam Dhillon in lead roles while Sanjeev Kumar, Simi Grewal, Yogeeta Bali, Deven Verma, Dina Pathak, Shashikala, Prema Narayan and Sunder also played significant characters in the film. The hit music of the movie was directed by the veteran music director Rahul Dev Burman while the songs were rendered by Mohammed Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Lata mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle etc.

The movie starts with a guy named Chander Mohan ( Randhir Kapoor ), who wants to get married with a beautiful girl. He arrives Bombay to live alongwith his friend, Gafoor ( Deven Verma ), who runs a theatre group. Chander starts his career as a singer and soon becomes a popular stage singer. One of his die hard fan is Asha ( Poonam Dhillon ). Soon they both falls in love with each other. But the problem is their love life is Asha’s father, retired Colonel Mangal Singh ( Sanjeev Kumar ), who refuse to accept a civilan like Chander as his son-in-law.

Then enters a small time crook named Shankar ( Sanjeev Kumar ), who is a look alike of Colonel. Shankar decides to impersonate Colonel. He inherit a huge amount of money from Chander’s benefector Nisha ( Simi Grewal ) in return of giving his nod for Chander and Asha’s marraige. Shankar then also steals Chander’s chain. Chander get shocked to see that his would be father-in-law is a thief in actual. What to happen next?
