Blackmail was an action movie released on January 28, 2005 under the banner of Siddhi Vinayak Creations. The movie was directed by Anil Devgan and produced by Narendra Bajaj and Shyam Bajaj. The actors in the lead roles were Ajay Devgan, Master Parth Dave, Priyanka Chopra and Suniel Shetty while the presence of Mukesh Rishi and Dia Mirza supported the film. The music of the film was directed by Himesh Reshammiya and the songs were sung by Sonu Nigam, Hema Sardesai, Shaan, Alka Yagnik and Shreya Ghosal.

The theme of the movie Blackmail is very confusing; the movie highlights the father son bonding but is promoted as an action film. The story of the movie is about kidnapping and ransom simultaneously. Ajay Devgan in the film plays the role of a speed freak who uses his car racing skills to make money by either hook or by crook. He can challenge any speed racer when he has got the hold of the steering. Ajay and sunil Shetty are back again with this film in the lead roles after some 11 years, the first being Dilwale.

ACP Abhay Rathod ( Suniel Shetty ) is a happy man and why should not he be after all he has a beautiful wife ( Priyanka Chopra ) and a loving son Chirag ( Parth Dave ). His rival Chhota ( Mukesh Rishi ) hires old time criminal Shekhar ( Ajay Devgan ) to take revenge from him and settle scores with him. Shekhar kidnaps Abhay’s son Chirag and in return as the ransom neither he wanted money nor Abhay’s life. He wanted something that was just impossible for him to pay. The reason why he is after him is because Shekhar feels that Abhay was indirectly responsible for his wife Anjali’s ( Dia Mirza ) death.
