The movie Bombay to Bangkok has been released on January 18, 2008 under the banner of Mukta Searchlight Films. The movie has been directed by Nagesh Kukunoor and produced by Subhash Ghai, Elahe Hiptoola and Rahul Puri. The movie Bombay to Bangkok is a sweet romantic love story that targets the most romantic people out there. The movie displays the message that love can’t be stopped within boundaries and can go beyond even a language barier. The subplot within a plot in the movie is a bonus to the viewers. The movie starts well and the romantic moments between Shankar ( Shreyas Talpade ) and Jasmine ( Lina Christianson ) are portrayed very beautifully. The story of the movie is about a small thief Shankar who steals everything that he can easily. He was in great need of money so steals a big amount from a local don ( Naseeruddin Shah ).

While escaping from the don he, by mistake, goes to Bangkok along with the team of doctors who were heading for a relief work there. But to his disappointment he misses out his money bag somewhere and he is back to his miserable state again. But destiny had different plans for him and his life changes when he met Jasmine at a massage parlour in Bangkok. Jasmine fell in need of a doctor the next day giving Shankar, who stood posing as a doctor, a chance to win her heart. The duo then escapes away together from the don and his son ( Vijay Maurya ) which begins the amusing journey of comedy.
