Bollywood movie, Brahamchari, directed by Bhappi Sonie and written by Sachin Bhowmick was released in the year 1968. The movie starred Shammi Kapoor and Rajshree in lead roles while nPran, Mumtaz, Madhavi, Asit Sen, Krishan Dhawan, Manmohan, Jagdeep and Dhumal also played important characters in the film. The melodious music of the movie was directed by none other than veteran music director duo Shankar-Jaikishen while the songs were rendered by Mohammed Rafi, Suman Kalyanpuri etc. The movie did well at the box office and its songs were also highly appreciated by the audience.

The movie starts with a guy named Brahamchari ( Shammi Kapoor ), living with tweleve children and a dog. Brahamchari works a magazine phoptographer in the daylight and as a musician in the evening. He needs to pay a mortage of Rs. 2 lakhs. He meets with a beautiful girl, named Sheetal Chadhabari ( Rajshree ) who was trying to commit suicide by drowning herself in the ocean. He convince her to let him take her picture before she jumps in the ocean as his boss has aksed him to take picture of a beautiful girl for the cover of their magazine. She agrees and Brahamchari brings her home.

Soon she becomes the member of the family and children starts considering her as their ‘didi’. Sheetal tells Brahamachari that she is in love with a guy named Ravi Khanna ( Pran ), with whom she was engaged in her childhood. But now Ravi is a wealthy guy and does not like her as she is poor. Brahamchari promise to help her out. Brahamchari learns that Ravi is a big womenizer and wants to be with high class modern girls. Brahamchari does a deal with Sheetal according to which he will trasform her in the type of women Ravi admires and in return she will give him Rs 2 Lakh after marrying with Ravi.
