Bollywood comic family drama, Budtameez, directed by Manmohan Desai and written by Jwalamukhi was released in the year 1966. The movie starred Shammi Kapoor and Sadhana Shivdasani in lead roles while Jagdish Raj, Laxmi Chayya, Poornima, Anil Nagrath, Sunder and Kamal Mehra also played significant characters in the film. The melodious evergreen music of the movie was composed by the well knwon music director duo Shankar-Jaikishen while the songs were rendered by Mohammed Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar, Suman Kalyanpur and Asha Bhonsle.

Shanta ( Sadhana Shivdasani ) is living a wealthy lifestyle alongwith her grandfather after the death of her parents in an accident. Shanta is a spoilt child as her grandfather has never stopped her from doing anything. Shanta ask her grandfather for giving her permission to go on a picnic alongwith her friends. Her grandfather gives her the permission but get shocked to see the new avatra of Shanta when she returns from the picnic trip. Her grandfather then decides to teach her a lesson.

He appoints a guy named Shyam Kumar Saxena ( Shammi Kapoor ) to teach her a strong lesson. Shyam does the magic and soon Shanta starts behaving like a good girl. In the process of teaching lesson to Shanta, both Shyam and Shanta falls in love with each other. Shanta’s grandfather is also happy with their relationship and wants them to get married. Shyam then returns to his home to tell this news to his mother and sister. Shanta get shcoked when she receives a letter from Shyam informing her that he is marrying another girl named Kamla.
