The romantic movie Chaand Ka Tukdaa was released on August 19, 1994. The movie was directed and produced by Sawan Kumar Tak. The main roles in the movie were played by Salman Khan, Shatrughan Sinha, Sridevi and Anupam Kher while Mehmood, Raza Murad, Lalit Tiwari, Guddi Maruti and Rama Vij were also there in the film. The music of the film was directed by Mahesh Kishore and the songs were sung by Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle and Jolly Mukherjee.

There has been produced several romantic movies in the Bollywood so far and this movie Chaand Kaa Tukdaa was just an addition. The movie, as the name suggests, is a romantic story about a young and extremely beautiful girl Radha ( Sridevi ) and around an orphan but young billionaire Shyam Malhotra ( Salman Khan ) who is also one of the top ten rich men in the world. Shyam is an foreigner and is in India to fulfill his grandmother’s last wish to marry an Indian girl so that their roots remain in India only.

Shyam initially had high hopes to meet his Chaand Kaa Tukdaa in India but was disappointed when his father’s friend Hasmukh Khurana ( Anupam Kher ) throws a party in his honour because what he saw in the party was completely different from what his grandmother told him. According to him, he wanted to see India of Ram and Sita, Radha and Krishna and where India’s culture and traditions come alive. Hansmukh suggested him to visit rural places and hill stations if he wanted to see India of such type.
