Yesteryear classic movie, Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi, directed by Satyen Bose was released in the year 1958. The movie starred Kishore Kumar and Madhubala in lead roles while Ashok Kumar and Anoop Kumar also played important roles in the film. The hit music of the film was given by famous music director Sachin Dev Burman and the songs were sung by Kishore Kumar, Asha Bhonsle etc. The movie was proved out to be one of the biggest hit comedy flick as a leading hero.

The movie starts with Brijmohan Sharma ( Ashok Kumar ) and his two brothers named Manmohan Sharma ( Kishore Kumar ) and Jagmohan Sharma ( Anoop Kumar ). The three runs a garage for earning money. The elder one, brijmohan just hates women as he was dumped by his girlfriend, Kamini ( Veena ) in love. On a rainy night a girl named Renu ( Madhubala ) at the garage when only Manu was there. Manu repairs her car but forgets to take the money from her. He goes to her home to get her money but on the way he sees some men dumping a dead body on the road.

At Renu’s home he sees a men whom he saw dumping the dead body on the road. He alongwith Renu follows, Raja Hardayal Singh ( K. N. Singh ), and his brother with whom he wants Renu to marry. Manu recognizes his brother as the person whom he saw dumping a dead body on the road. But both of them get caught by Hardayal Singh’s men. There Manu also sees Kamini, who is none other than his elder brother’s love. She is also in the custody of Hardayal Singh. What Manu will do now and how he will save Renu and Kamini from the gundas.
