Dharmendra and Meena Kumari starrer romantic drama, Chandan Ka Palna, was released in the year 1967. The movie was written and directed by Ismail Memon. The other starcast of the movie includes nasir Hussain, Mehmood, Abhi Bhattacharya, Mumtaz, Asit Sen, Kamal Mohan, Durga Khote and Dhumal also played important characters in the film. The hit melodious evergreen music of the movie was directed by the hit veteran music director Rahul Dev Burman while the songs were crooned by Mohammed Rafi, Manna Dey, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle etc.

Young and handsome, Ajit ( Dharmendra ) is living a wealthy lifestyle alongwith his mother in their palatial house. He come across a beautiful girl named Shobha ( Meena Kumari ) and falls in love with her. Shobha too get attrcated towards him. Ajit asks his mother to meet with Shobha’s father, Harikishen Rai ( Nasir Hussain ). Soon Ajit and Shobha get married to each other. But after few days of their marriage, Ajit starts noticing a strange change in the behaviour of shobha. Shobha becomes addicted to alcohol and starts behaving like a spoilt daughter of a rich father.

Ajit confronts Shobha for all this but she refuse to tell him anything. Ajit’s mom and Shobha gets into an argument and enraged Shobha lifts up her hand to slap Ajit’s mother. Ajit throws her out of the house. Shobha returns to her father house. But still Ajit is wondering about the reason for the sudden change in Shobha.
