Charas: A joint Operation, an action packed thriller directed by Tigmanshu dhulia was released in the year 2004. The movie starred Jimmy Shergill and Hrishita Bhatt in lead roles while Uday Chopra, Namrata Shirodkar, Irrfan Khan, Adam Bedi, Jahangir Khan, Anoop Soni, Varun Badola, Sanjay Mishra, Kabir Sadanand and Rajiv Gupta also played simporatnt characters in the film. The melodious music of the movie was directed by the music director Raju Singh while the songs were rendered by Sonu Nigam, Shantanu Mukherjee, Sunidhi Chauhan, Alka Yagnik, K. S. Chitra and Mahalakshmi.

The movie starts with a guy named Dev Anand ( Jimmy Shergill ), who is living a happy lifestyle. His best friend is Sam Higgins ( Adam Bedi ), who he considers like a brother. Sam is living in London. Dev get shocked when Sam goes missing in the Ladakh region of India. Dev then decides to locate him on his own. He arrives in Ladakh but soon realise that India and Indians are considered very bad there. He decides to take help from local police in locating Sam. But soon he realize that he will not get support from police in locating Sam.

Situation gets even worse when Dev is blamed of being a smuggler of drugs and ammunition. Dev then come across a mystery man famous with the name of ‘Policeman’ ( Irrfan Khan ). He reveals that if he wants to localte Sam the he will have to become friendly with ‘policeman’. He does so but soon finds himself entrapped in a web of lies and deception. What will happen to Dev now? Whether he will be able to locate Sam or not?
