Bollywood action thriller, Chor Ho To Aisa, directed by Ravi Tandon was released in the year 1978. The movie starred Shatrughan Sinha and Reena Roy in lead roles while Vikas Anand, Birbal, Bindu, Anoop Kumar, Anwar Hussain, Pran, Madan Puri, Raza Murad, Rajendra Nath and Jagdish Raj also played important characters in the film. The music of the movie was composed by the legendary Rahul Dev Burman while the songs were rendered by Mohammed Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Manna dey, Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhonsle.

The movie starts with a guy named Prannath ( Pran ), who is living alongwith his wife and son named Sanju ( Shatrughan Sinha ). Prannath is arrested by police in the wrong charge of stealing some jwellery. He is sentenced to prison by court. But unfortunately the police jeep carrying Prannath meets with an accident and all people get killed. On the otherhand, Sanju is abducted by a thief named Ramu ( Madan Puri ). Ramu train Sanju to be a criminal. years later, Sanju is now a career criminal and famous with the name of Shankar.

He meets with a beautifull village girl named Champa ( Reena Roy) and falls in love with her. Shankar reveals that Champa’s brother Birju ( Raza Murad ) is in jail for wrong charges and is not guilty at all. Shankar decides to prove Birju innocent in front of the court. But before Shankar could do anything, he is arrested by police in the cahrge of murdering a pregnant women named Seema ( Bindu ).
