Dadagiri was an action thriller film which was released on January 30, 1987. The movie was directed as well as produced by Deepak Shivdasani. The key roles in the movie were played by Dharmendra, Rati Agnihotri, Govinda and Padmini Kolhapure while the presence of Amrish Puri, Rakesh Bedi, Sudhir Dalvi and Shashikala supported the film. The music of the film was directed by Bappi Lahiri while the songs were sung by Shabbir Kumar. Lyrics of the film were given by Hasrat Jaipuri.

Dadagiri was an action cum thriller movie that revolved around a young girl named Deepa ( Rati Agnihotri ) who lived a poor lifestyle with her widowed father in India and was in love with a man named Dharma ( Dharmendra ). One day her father got ill and was required to be treated abroad for his treatment. To get her father treated she was required to marry a man named Singh who was a rich man. Deepa had no solution but to accept the proposal.

Dharma was heartbroken with Deepa’s decision and thus decides to remain single and shifts his attention to alcohol and also becomes a good hearted gangster. One day, Deepa gives birth to a daughter named Barkha ( Padmini Kolhapure ) and soon her husband passes away leaving her with all the comforts. Her brother-in-law, Bhanupratap ( Amrish Puri ) was a bad man and after hearing this news he wanted some money from her. She also gives him some.
