The horror and thriller movie Darna Zaroori Hai was released on 28th April, 2006 under the banner of K. Sera Sera Production. The movie was directed and produced by Ram Gopal Varma. The lead roles were played by the actors Amitabh Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Ritesh Deshmukh and Mallika Sherawat while the roles of Sunil Shetty, Arjun Rampal and Bipasha Basu were also important. The music of the film was directed by Taabish Romani and the songs were sung by Sukhwinder Singh, Sunidhi Chauhan, Kunal Ganjawala and Mohona Sarkar.

The famous director Ram Gopal Verma had earlier made the movie “Darna Mana Hai” which he declared to be the scary movie but the response was not great so he produced this movie “Darna Zaroori Hai” and promises it to be scarier than its prequel.  The film is a great mix of seven horrifying stories and is produced in a narrative manner. The first story is about an old man ( Amitabh Bachchan ) who turned out to be a hallucinating professor whose student was Riteish Deshmukh. In the other movie, Anil Kapoor plays a film director who wanted to produce something different now.

The next story was about trade buzz and turned out to be the funniest as well as scariest of the rest of the stories. This story is directed by Sajid Khan who made his directorial denut with this part of the movie. The story is about a man ( Manoj Pahwa ) who does not believed in ghosts at any point of time. The next story is about a cop Zakir Hussain who locks up Randeep Honda in a jail unknowing of the fact that soon he would have to face the worst nightmare of his life.
