The animated movie Dashavatar has been released on June 13, 2008 under the banner of Animation Phoebus Media. The movie has been directed by Bhavik Thakore and produced by Vimal Shah. The actors in lead roles are Sachin Khedekar, Tom Alter, Shreyas Talpade, Roopa Ganguly, Vinay Apte, Kenneth Desai, Aashish Vidyarthi and Shishir Sharma. The songs of the movie have been directed by Anand Kurhekar and the singers of the movie are Shreya Ghosal, Rahul Deo, Ketaki Mategaonkar, Kunal Ganjawala, K K, Shankar Mahadevan, Sanjeev Abhyankar, Rattan Mohan Sharma and Shaan.

Dashavatar is an animation movie that is based on Hindu Mythology and the word Dashavatar means “Dus Avatar” or Ten Faces or characters of God. Though we are living today’s hectic life but the humans are prone to evil or negative energy. Thus whenever the evil is linked with the mankind God has to come in this world in some character to rescue the mankind. Lord Vishnu, the God who maintains the earth, protects the humans from evil. The God has to take ten avatars till now for protecting us: Matsya, Kurm, Varaha, Narsimha, Parshuram, Vaman, Ram, Krishna, Gautam Buddha, and Kalki.

The two most famous avatars of them are Ram and Krishna about whom every one of us knows well. It is believed that human evolution has passed through four phases: Satya Yug, Treta Yug, Dwapar Yug and Kali Yug. We are living in the Kali Yug and the other yugs have passed. The story of the movie is about Lord Vishnu and his heroic actions comprising the film to be action, drama and adventure. The animation of the movie is quite beautiful and is capable of letting humans find their inner selves.
