Daulat was an action family drama released on January 1, 1982. The movie was directed by Moham Saigal while it was produced by D Mehta and Jawaharlal Bafna. The top roles in the movie were played by Vinod Khanna, Raj Babbar, Zeenat and Sarika while the roles of Amjad Khan, Deven Verma, Dev Kumar, Birbal, Ramesh Deo and Seema Deo were equally important. The music of the film was directed by R D Burman while the songs were sung by Asha Bhosle, Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar.

Daulat was an action cum family movie that revolved mostly around a man named Ghanshyam ( Shreeram Lagoo ) who is a very honest employee working in a mint firm. He was falsely framed for murder by corrupt man Joseph D’Souza ( Amjad Khan ) and due to this he was required to escape from the police. Because of this, he was thus separated from his family consisting of his wife Radhika ( Seema Deo ), two sons and a blind daughter.

After many years, Ghanshyam who was forced to work for Joseph and was required to print fake rupee currency, is a rich man now and popularly known as Vikram Singh. He was unaware of the fact that his wife and daughter are homeless and destitute while his elder son Ravi ( Vinod Khanna ) is a burglar at night while a rich and respectable man Kunwar Dilip Singh in day. His younger son Sushil ( Raj Babbar ) is a police inspector adopted by Police Commissioner ( Om Shivpuri ).
