Bollywood romantic thriller, Deewana, directed by Raj Kanwar was released on June 25, 1992. The movie starred Rishi Kapoor, Shahrukh Khan and Divya Bharti in lead roles while Alok Nath, Amrish Puri, Mohnish Behl, Dalip Tahil, Deven Verma, Sushma Seth and Asha Sachdev also played important roles in the film. The superhit music of the film was composed by none other than music director duo Nadeem-Shrawan while the songs were sung by Kumar Sanu, Vinod Rathod, Alka Yagnik, Sadhana Sargam etc. The movie was a huge box offie hit and also the debut film of Shahrukh Khan.

The movie starts with Ravi ( Rishi Kapoor ), who belongs to a rich family. Ravi himself is a popular singer by profession. Ravi falls in love with a beautiful girl named Kajal ( Divya Bharti ) and soon they both get married. After marriage Ravi starts taking interest much to the discomfort of his uncle, Dhirendra Pratap ( Amrish Puri ). Dhirendra Pratap sends some goons to kill Ravi and while fighting with them Ravi slips from the top. The goons assumes that Ravi is dead and tells this to Dhirendra Pratap. When Ravi’s mother comes to know about Dhirendra’s bad intentions, she runs away alongwith Kajal to some other city.

They both starts living a new life in the city. There a guy named Raja Sahay ( Shahrukh Khan ) enters in the life of Kajal. But Kajal being a widow tries to keep a distance from him. Ravi’s mother decides that Kajal should start her life from a new point and therefore forces her to marry Raja. Soon they both get married and Kajal also falls in love with Raja. But the problem arises when Kajal finds out that Ravi is still alive. Now Kajal has to decides whether she wants to live with Ravi or Raja? What will happen when Raja will learn about this?
