Bollywood action drama, Deewar: Let’s Bring Our Heroes Home, directed by Milan Luthria and written by Anurag Kashyap was released on June 25, 2004. The movie starred Amitabh Bachchan, Akshaye Khanna and Amrita rao in lead roles while Sanjay Dutt, Kay Kay Menon, Tanuja, Akhilendra Mishra, Raghuvir Yadav, Yasir Khan, Sanjay Niverkar, Kamlesh Sawant, Rajendra Nath Zuthsi, Aditya Srivastava, Pradeep Singh Rawat and Amar Talwar also played important characters in the film. The melodious music of the movie was directed by Aadesh Srivastava while the songs were rendered by Roop Kumar Rathod, Udit Narayan, Sonu Nigam, Kailash Kher, Alka Yagnik and Shraddha Pandit.

The movie starts with Gaurav Kaul ( Akshaye Khanna ), who is living a tense life alongwith his mother as they have no knowledge about Gaurav’s father, Major Ranvir Kaul ( Amitabh Bachchan ) since the war of 1971. Officials says that Major is still alive and may be imprisioned in one of the jail in Pakistan. But Pakistan always refuse to accept the presence of any Indian soldiers of 1971 war, in their jails. Gaurav then decides to bring his father to India on his own as he no more wants to see his mother crying for his father.

Gaurav arrives in Pakistan and starts living in the house of Radhika’s ( Amrita Rao ) father. Gaurav tries to learn about the jail where the war soldiers are kept but fails. He then takes help of a criminal named Khan ( Sanjay Dutt ). Khan tells him that his father is still alive and is in jail alongwith 30 other Indian soldiers. Now Gaurav and Khan plans to free Major and his fellow soldiers from the jail.
