The movie Dhamaal was released on September 7, 2007 under the banner of Maruti International. The movie that comes under the genre of comedy was directed by Indra Kumar and produced by Ashok Thakeria and Indra Kumar. The lead roles were played by Sanjay Dutt, Javed Jaffrey, Aashish Chaudhary, Arshad Warsi and Ritesh Deshmukh whereas other actors Asrani, Murli Sharma, Tiku Talsania and Prem Chopra also supported them well. Music was directed by Adnan Sami and songs were sung by Shaan, Sandeep Shirodkar, Amit Kumar, Raghav Sachar, Asha Bhosle and Naveen Prabhakar.

Dhamaal is full of comedy and the most important reason for this is that it has taken all the great comic actors in the film. Kabir Nayak ( Sanjay Dutt ) is a crook police officer in need of money always. He had been chasing a criminal Bose for a long time but he died and told his secrets to a few men. Roy ( Riteish Deshmukh ) wished to be a detective but just messes all the work in which he get involved. Aditya ( Arshad Warsi ) was a fraud who was earning some money by fooling people. Manav ( Jaaved Jaafery ) is an innocent younger brother of Aditya.

Boman ( Ashish Chowdhry ) is a guy who had always attracted problems to him but he had always wished to get away from them. The above stated four people were having a hard time and wanted to earn money but it was not an honest job they were looking for. Some day when they helped a dying man Bose ( Prem Chopra ), Bose revealed a secret to them and they all began their journey to the treasure. Inspector Kabir Nayak got to know about the secret and also got added to the chase, the chase to finding the treasure. But after a lot of comic sequences the treasure found by them was given away in charity.
