The family drama Dhan Daulat was released on January 11, 1980. The movie was directed by Harish Shah and produced by Vinod Shah. The top roles in the movie were played by Rishi Kapoor, Rajendra Kumar, Neetu Singh and Pran while the supporting roles were played by Mala Sinha, Prem Chopra, Premnath and Kader Khan. The music of the film was directed by R D Burman while the songs were sung by Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhosle.

The movie Dhan Daulat was a family movie that revolved mostly around a child that was deliberately left unattented in a truck. It seemed that destiny had different plans for him as he was then adopted by the truck drivers Mangat ( Prem Nath ) and Bajirao ( Pran ) and then was looked after by a lady named Buaji ( Mala Sinha ). With the passage of time, the child has grown up and renamed as Lucky ( Rishi Kapoor ) who knows all the roads of Mumbai.

After some time Lucky comes across a girl named Shanti ( Neetu Singh ) and falls in love with her. Sho also started loving him and thus he went to ask her hand for marriage from her father who disapproves of him and humiliates him before asking to leave the place. Lucky wanted to marry her at any cost and thus sets out goal for himself and started working towards it. He is now a fancy car owner and also has a huge bungalow in Bombay.
