Bollywood romantic movie, Dhanwaan, directed by K. Vishwanath was released on December 10,1993. The movie starred Ajay Devgan and Karishma Kapoor in lead roles while Manisha Koirala, Kadar Khan, Dalip Tahil, Shakti Kapoor, Aruna Irani, Tinnu Anand and Avinash Wadhavan also played important roles in the film. The melodious hit msuic of the film was given by the music director duo Anand-Milind while the songs were sung by Kavita Krishnamurthy, Suresh Wadkar, S.P. Balasubrahmaniam, Abhijeet, Alka yagnik, Sadhana Sargam, Nitin Mukesh etc. The moveie did well at the box office window and received positive response from auidence as well as critics.

Kashinath ( Ajay Devgan ) is a tourist guide living a happy life at a hill station. He is in love with his childhood friend, Imli ( Manisha Koirala ) and planning to get married in future. Banarasi ( Shakti Kapoor ), is the elder brother of Imli and is the houskeeper of a rich bunglow owned by a wealthy man, Jagmohan Chopra ( Kadar Khan ), who lives in the city with his family. Jagmohan is worried about his granddaughter, Anjali Chopra ( Karishma Kapoor ), who is facing a sickness problem. Jagmohan brings her to the hill station’s bunglow to get some fresh air.

In the company of Kashinath and imli, Anjali also becomes bold and recovers from her sickness. But in the process, Anjali falls in love with Kashi and Kashi too starts developing feeling for Anjali. But soon Kashi realises that he actuallt loves Imli and not Anjali. Imli also discloses that she has a heart disease. After knowning this fact Anjali decides to forget her love for Kashi. But Imli forces her to get married with Kashi? What will Kashi do now?
