The action and social drama Dharam Adhikari was released on April 11, 1986. The movie was directed by D K Raghvendra Rao and produced by U V Suryanarayan Rao. The top roles in the movie were enacted by Dilip Kumar, Sridevi, Jeetendra and Kader Khan while Anuradha Patel, Asrani, Shakti Kapoor, Pran, Rohini Hattangadi and Priti Sapru were also there in the film. The music of the film was directed by Bappi Lahiri while the songs were sung by Kishore Kumar, Suwankar Janki, Shabbir Kumar, Asha Bhosle and Mohammad Aziz.

The movie takes a turn when he now requires keeping distance with his brother Prakash ( Jeetendra ) and his wife Savitri ( Rohini Hattangadi ) and daughter, Aarti ( Anuradha Patel ). This was not all, now he was also charged of having an illicit affair with a widow in the village by the villagers headed by Chaudhry ( Pran ) and Shastri.
