The movie Dhram aur Kanoon was an action drama released on 10 August, 1984. The movie was directed by Jyoti and the producer of the movie was Pranlal Mehta. The lead roles in the movie were played by Dharmendra, Jaya Prada, Danny Denzongappa and Rajesh Khanna. Other good roles were played by Paresh Rawal, Om Shiv Puri, Birbal and Vinod Mehra. The music of the movie was given by Kalyanji Virji Shah and Anandji Virji Shah while the songs were sung by Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhosle.

The movie’s story is an interesting one. Justice Diwan ( Rajesh Khanna ) is a well known man in the society and lives in a big house with his family, wife Shrada and son Rajan. There were frequent clashes between Diwan and Rajan and as result Rajan leaves the house and goes to live with his friend Dr. Bashir ( Vinod Mehra ) and his brother Rahim ( Dharmendra ). Bashir’s senior gets killed and Bashir is found there at the spot with a knife. Thus, he is accused and is given a death sentence by none other than Justice Diwan.

Later, another man named Bhurre is killed and this time Rahim is sentenced to death by Justice Diwan. The unexpected sequence of events continues with Rahim’s house getting burned bringing him to streets. Then Shrada is killed and Rahim is seen around the house creating more doubts. The question arises who is behind all this. Will Rahim be the next one to be hanged to the noose of death? Is Diwan making the right decisions or he is doing so to teach his son a lesson.
