Rajendra Kumar and Waheeda Rehman starrer romantic drama, Dharti, was released in the year 1970. The movie was directed by C.V. Sridhar. The other starcast of the movie includes Sudesh Kumar, Balraj Sahni, Rajendra Nath, Ajit, Kamini Kaushal and Kumkum in important roles. The hit evergreen music of the movie was directed by the veteran music director duo Shankar-jaikishen while the songs were rendered by Mohammed Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar etc.

The movie starts with a very patriotic guy named Bharat ( Rajendra Kumar ) and wants to get rid of the ruler Diwan ( Ajit ) at any cost. He decides to abduct princess Chitralekha ( Waheeda Rehman ) with the help of his frieds Ranjeet ( Sudesh Kumar ) and Dikkie ( Rajendra Nath ). Bharat’s father Inspector General Chandrashekhar ( Balraj Sahni ) is not happy with his son’s deed and decides to arrest him at any cost. But the problem is for Bharat’s mother who is being torn between Bharat and his father.

Bharat then decides to perform a bombblast in the train in which Diwan is travelling. But little does he knows is that his own father is also travelling in the same train for the protection fo Diwan. What will happen now? Whether Bharat will perform the blast and is then will be accused by his own mother of killing his father or he will stop implementing his plan to blast the train?
