The romantic movie Dil Ka Rishta was released on January 17, 2003 under the banners of Tips Music Films and Target Films Pvt Ltd. The movie was directed by Naresh Malhotra and produced by Shabbir Boxwala and Aditya Rai. The main roles in the movie were played by Arjun Rampal, Priyanshu Chatterjee, Aishwarya Rai and Rakhee while Isha Koppikar and Paresh Rawal also played good roles. The music was directed by Nadeem-Shravan and the songs were sung by Babul Supriyo, Jaspinder Narula, Udit Narayan, Sarika Kapoor and Kumar Sanu.

The theme of the movie is human emotions before the director Naresh Malhotra draws the story to its logical as well as expected end. The story of the movie mostly revolves around Jai ( Arjun Rampal ) and Tia ( Aishwarya Rai ). Jai is a handsome, charming person and also an ideal man for any woman. Jai is in love with a beautiful girl named Tia who reacts with indifference to his love. While Jai loves her obsessively, she is unmoved and rock solid. She just can’t reciprocate Jai’s feelings with the equal warmth.

The reason behind that stubbornness is that Tia is still trapped by her feelings of her past dead lover. But Jai believes that his love is worth fighting for. But when he turned stone hearted he realized that Tia never really loved him. Jai started keeping distance with her. It was when he started moving away from her, that she started realizing his love. Now the story is other way round, while Tia loves Jai, he is unmoved by her love.
