The movie Diljale was a romantic action movie released on September 27, 1996.The movie was directed by Harry Baweja and was produced by Pammi Baweja.The lead roles in the movie were played by Ajay Devgan, Sonali Bendre and Amrish Puri. Other actors were Tinu Anand, Farida Jalal and Shakti Kapoor. The music of the film was given by Anu Malik and the lyricist was Javed Akhtar. The singers were Kumar Sanu, Alka Yagnik, Udit Narayan and Shobha Joshi.

In the movie Shaaka ( Ajay Devgan ) is a terrorist working under Daka ( Amrish Puri ), the group leader. Shaaka was a simple guy Shyam. He had a college mate Radhika ( Sonali Bendre ) and both start liking each other. When Radhika’s father ( Shakti Kapoor ) comes to know about their relationship he becomes really angry and decides to teach Shyam a lesson. He bribes a police officer ( Gulshan Grover ) and gets Shyam and his father arrested. Both are tortured and Shyam’s father dies.

Shyam runs from the prison and becomes Shaaka. Daka’s gang kidnapped a group of people to put some demands in front of the government. Radhika was one of the hostages. She then comes to know the reason behind Shyam becoming a terrorist and develops a soft corner for him. Shabnam ( Madhoo ), a group member too starts loving Shaaka. In the end Shaaka saves Daaka’s group from getting killed by the military and surrenders.
