The movie Divorce was a romantic drama released in 1984 under the banner of Mewar Film Inti. The movie was produced and directed by N D Kothari. The lead roles in the movie were played by Kumar Gaurav, Poonam Dhillon, Sharmila Tagore and Jagdeep. Some other good roles were played by Satyen Kappu, Bindu, Om Shiv Puri and Keshto Mukherjee. The music of the film was directed by Usha Khanna while the songs were sung by Asha Bhosle and Yesudas.

The movie is about a family whose head is Oswal ( Om Shuiv Puri ) a strong and influential personality in the society. He lives along with his beautiful wife and two sons Jayant ( Girish Kanad ) and Ajay ( Vijayendra Ghatge ). His both sons were in love with Jayant loving Chandra ( Sharmila Tagore ) and Ajay loving Seema ( Jasmine ). Mr. Oswal wanted Jayant to marry a girl of his choice and somehow convinces him. Ajay could not believe his brother’s decision as now his dad might force him to do so.

Ajay, against Oswal’s will marries Seema, leaves his dad’s house and settles down at a separate place. Ajay starts working as a taxi driver and Seema takes up the job of a nurse. One night Ajay gets surprised by seeing Seema leaving the house so late with another man. He becomes furious and files a divorce without enquiring with Seema about who the man was. Both gets divorced and Ajay receives a news of his mother being seriously ill and not being take care of her brother’s wife. Has Oswal’s decision about the marriages of his boys devastated the whole family?
