Bollywood musical drama, Do Aakhen Barah Haath, directed by Rajaram Vankudre Shantaram and written by G.D. Madgulkar was released in the year 1957. The movie starred Rajaram Vankudra Shantaram and Sandhya in lead roles while Paul Sharma, S. K. Singh, Gajendra, Ulhas, B. M. Vyas, Asha devi and Baburao Pendharkar also played important characters in the film. The hit romantic melodious music of the movie was composed by the veteran music director Vasant Desai while the songs were rendered by Manna Dey, Lata Mangeshkar etc.

The movie starts with a young guy named Adinath ( Rajaram Vankudre Shantaram ), who is a newly appointed warden of a jail. He is soft hearted warden who believes that the dangerous criminals can be converted into soft hearted people by behaving good with them. He files an application to his senior officials in which he demands that he wants to take six murderers from prisonto a country farm to convert them into good human beings. He manage to convince his seniors about this thing and gets the permission to taking six prisoners alongwith him.

He tries to make all them good human being but opposite to it all of the six criminals always makes plan to fly from his custody. How Adinath manage to convert the notorious criminals into good humna beings is the real story of the movie. He receives help from a girl named Champa ( Sandhya ) in his planning.
