Bollywood family drama, Do Musafir, directed by Devendra Goel was released on June 25, 1978. The movie starred Shashi Kapoor and Rekha in lead roles while Ashok Kumar, Prem Chopra, Jagdeep, Pran also played important characters in the film. The hit melodious music of the film was directed by the hit veteran music director duo Kalyanji Anandji while the songs were beautifully rendered by Mohammed Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle and Anuradha Paudwal.

The movie starts with a guy named Raju ( Shashi Kapoor ), who is living a middle class lifestyle alongwith his mother in city. He come across a beautiful girl named Bijli ( Rekha ) and instantly falls in love with her. They both decides to get married soon. But before their marraige could happen, destiny strikes and Raju meets with an accident. Raju passes away in that accident leaving behind his devastated mother and Bijli. Bijli then come across a guy name Vicky ( Shashi Kapoor ), who is look alike of Raju.

Bijli reveals that Raju’s death was not an accident but was a preplanned murder. She reveals that Shambhu Chaudhary ( Pran ) and Kailash Nath ( Prem Chopra ) are behind the death of Raju. Bijli decides to seduce Vicky so that he help her in getting revenge from Shambhu and Kailashnath. But whether she will succeed in her plan or not?
