The social movie Dor was released on September 22, 2006 under the banners of Percept Picture Company, SIC Productions and Sahara One Motion Pictures. The movie was directed by Nagesh Kukunoor and included Shreyas Talpade, Gul Panag, Ayesha Takia and Girish Karnad in the lead roles. The supporting roles were played by Rushad Rana, Veena Sajnani, Uttara Bavkar and Nagesh Kukunoor. The music of the film was directed by Salim and Sulaiman Merchant while the songs were sung by Shafqat Amanat Ali, Sunidhi Chauhan, Shreya Ghosal and Pratichee.

The movie Dor raises a question to its viewers softly that how far one would go to achieve love? The movie is directed by a highly acclaimed director Nagesh Kukunoor and this is why audience expected some thing that interests them in the film, but it was a big disappointment. Zeenat ( Gul Panag ) is a brave and confident young girl from Himachal Pradesh. She lives alone and marries her love interest. Meera ( Ayesha Takia ) is a sweet and simple girl from Rajput. She has the most loving husband and a joint family.

Behroopiya ( Shreyas Talpade ) is caring and loving guy from Rajasthan and is a colorful person at heart. He also helps Zeenat to reach her destination. The story of the movie is mostly about love, passion and friendship. It is story of two different ladies from different places who haven’t met each other. Zeenat travels all the way from Himachal Pradesh to the desert areas of Rajasthan in search of Meera. On the way to Rajasthan she come across Behroopiya who helps her reaching her destination and also entertains her with his humorous nature.
