The social movie Ek Baar Chale Aao was released in the year of 1983. The movie was directed by Jagdish Sadhana and produced by Abdul Sattar. The key roles in the movie were enacted by Farooq Sheikh, Kulbhushan Kharbanda and Deepti Naval while Girish Karnad, G. Asrani, Jankidas, Kaajal Kiran and Nadira were also there in the film. The music of the film was directed by Chand Pardesi while the songs were sung by Lata Mangeshkar.

The movie Ek Baar Chale Aao was a social flick that revolved mostly around a man named Dharam Das ( Kulbhushan Kharbanda ) who wanted to get his sister married soon but to a reliable and good person. His search ended soon when he comes across a man named Din Dayal ( Girish Karnad ) who also agrees to marry her. The twist in the movie comes when one day Din demands a hefty amount of money in dowry which Dharam was unable to produce before him. He thus breaks all ties and leaves for his home and also marries another woman.

The news devastates the Das family in which the bride kills herself adding to the more humiliation. Her brother decides to take revenge from the culprit at any cost. The movie takes another turn when years later Din’s daughter Gulab ( Deepti Naval ) falls in love with a man named Kamal who is none other than Dharam’s son. When Dharam finds out, he gets angry and refuses to permit Kamal ( Farooq Shaikh ) to get married to her but when insisted he agrees for them.
