Bollywood romantic family drama, Ek Baar Kaho, directed by Lekh Tandon and written by Madhusudhan Kalekar was released on September 3, 1980. The movie starred Naveen Nischol and Shabana Azmi in lead roles while Anil Kapoor, Rajendra Nath, Dilip Dhawan, Suresh Oberoi, Kiran Virale, Madan Puri and Jagdeep also played important characters in the film. The hit melodious music of the movie was directed by none other than the well knwon music director Bappi Lahiri while the songs were beautifully crooned by Jagjit Singh, Bappi Lahiri, Sulakshana Pandit, K. J. Yesudas, Aarti Mukherjee etc.

The movie starts with young and handsome, Ravi Verma ( Naveen Nischol ), who meets with a beautiful girl named Aarti Mathur ( Shabana Azmi ). He instantly falls in love with her. Aarti too gets attracted towards him. But the real problem is that Ravi is unable to express his love for Aarti. Aarti is in confusion whether Ravi also likes her or not. Aarti decides to reveal the feeling of Ravi for her but fails. She then decides to forget about Ravi and her love for him.

Aarti’s marraige is arranged with another guy by her family. Ravi get shocked with this news and finally decides to express his love to Aarti. Will Ravi be able to express his love to Aarti before she get married with another guy? What will be the reaction of Aarti? Whether she will stop the marriage to marry ravi or she will marry the guy who has been choosen by her parents?
