Bollywood family drama, Ek Mahal Ho Sapno Ka, directed by Devendra Goel and written by Mushtaq Jalili was released on July 9, 1975. The movie starred Dharmendra and Sharmila Tagore in lead roles while Ashok Kumar, Leena Chandavarkar, David Abraham, Brahamchari, Achala sachdev, Ramesh deo, Deven Verma, Birbal, Asha Chandra and Jagdish Raj also played important roles in the film. The evergreen hit music of the movie was composed by the music director Ravi while the songs were crooned by Mohammed Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar, Kishore Kumar etc.

Young and handsome Vishal ( Dharmendra ) is a poet and is living a middle class lifestyle alongwith his wheel chair boun mother. he is in love with a beautiful girl named Aruna Sehgal ( Sharmila Tagore ), who works in a publishing company. Aruna tries to get Vishal to work at her firm but beacuse of his forthrightness, he ends up loosing that job. Aruna get furious with Vishal and stops meeting with him. Few days later, Vishal gets the invitation card of Arun’s marraige with her boss, Anand Kumar ( Ashok Kumar ). Vishal get devastated with this news and takes alcohol in a big way.

Vishal then starts hating womens. Time changes and Vishal gets popular by selling his poems to Ramu Makhichandani ( Deven Verma ). But he still hates womens. Then ayoung and beautiful girl named Sonia ( Leena Chandavarkar ) enters in his life and change his thinking towards womens. They both falls in love with each other. But Vishal get another shock when he revelas that Sonia is none other than the step daighter of Aruna.
