Ek Naya Rishta was a family drama released in the year of 1988. The movie was directed by Ajit Kumar, Sunil Agnihotri and Vinod Pandey while it was produced by Vinod Pandey. The actors in the lead roles were Raj Kiran, Marc Zuber, Rekha and Urmila Bhatt while the roles of Mazhar Khan, Vinod Pandey, Rabia Ameen and Om Shiv Puri were also important. The music of the film was directed by Khayyam and Enoch Daniels while the songs were sung by Asha Bhosle, Rekha Bharadwaj, Bhupinder and Lata Mangeshkar.

The movie Ek Naya Rishta was a social and family drama as clear from its title. The story of the movie revolves mostly around Rajiv Tandon ( Raj Kiran ) who is an alcoholic and womanizing. He lives a wealthy lifestyle with his widowed industrialist dad, Shankardayal ( Om Shivpuri ) in a palatial house. One day Shankardayal passes away unexpectedly and according to his will, Rajiv could inherit all his property only if he becomes a father of a son within 18 months of his passing.

But this was a big problem to Rajiv as he was not ready to marry any girl and indulge in permanent relationship. Thus he was ready to distribute his father’s property amongst their relatives. But when he notices their greed, he decides to be the father of a child. The twist in the story was that he does not want to marry but just have a sexual relationship with a woman, who must give birth to a child, and then leave his life forever. He met Aarti Saxena ( Rekha ) who agrees to fulfill his demands.
