Bollywood horror flick, Ek Paheli, directed by Naresh Kumar was released in the year 1971. The movie starred Sanjeev Kumar, Feroz Khan and Tanuja in lead roles while Madan Puri, Manohar Deepak, Aruna Irani, Jeevan, Tun Tun and Ranjendra Nath also played important characters in the film. The hit melodious music of the movie was directed by the well known female music director Usha Khanna while the songs were crooned by Mohammed Rafi, Suman Kalyanpur and Usha Khanna herself.

Sudhir ( Feroz Khan ) is living a wealthy lifestyle in London. He is a doctor by profession. He returns to India after recieving the news of his father’s death. He is known to no one in the city and therefore he decides to throw an introductory party. He then goes in an auction of a valuable piano. There he come across a mysterious lady named Maria ( Tanuja ), who tells him that the piano is very precious to her. The auction starts with a lady playing that paino. But to everyone shock the lady dies suddenly. Later, the servant, Johni also found killed in the house.

Police arrives there and starts their inspection. Police suspects Sudhir fo the two murders. Sudhir meets with Maria at a graveyard. He get attracted towards her. Meanwhile, Shankarlal ( Madan Puri ) comes into existence who wants to inherit the wealth of Sudhir. He tries to help Sudhir in finding maria but his actual plan is to kill both of them so that he can easily inherit all his wealth.
