Bollywood romantic family drama movie, Ek-Saal, directed by Devendra Goel was released in the year 1957. The movie starred Ashok Kumar and Madhubala in lead roles while Mehmood, Pratima Devi, Sheelavaz, Moolchand, Johnny Walker and Kuldip Kaur also played significant characters in the film. The hit melodious music of the movie was directed by the well known veteran music director Ravi while the songs were rendered by Mohammed Rafi, Hemanata Mukherjee, Talat Mehmood, Lata Mangeshkar etc.

Usha Sinha ( Madhubala ) is living a wealthy lifestyle alongwith her father in her palatial house in the Bombay city. She visits her maternal grandmother ( Pratima Devi ) alongwith her father on a holiday. There she meets with a handsome and charming young guy named Suresh Kumar ( Ashok Kumar ). She get attracted towards him and decides to become friendly with him. But before she can proceed, Suresh disappears from the city. Later she gets another cvhance to meet him , when her father hires him as their new manager.

After few meeting, Suresh and Usha falls in love with each other. Later Usha reveals that she is suffering from a brain tumor. And Suresh is not actually in love with her but is just pretending to be in love with her. She also reveals that Suresh is in love with a lucknow based women named Rajni ( Kuldip Kaur ). What will she do now? Whether she will let this drama go on or not?
