The action comedy movie Ekka Raja Rani was released on June 24, 1994. The movie was directed by Afzal Ahmad and produced by Xavier Marquis. The actors in the lead roles were Vinod Khanna, Ayesha Jhulka, Govinda and Paresh Rawal while the roles of Johny Lever, Rajendra Nath and Tinu Anand were also important. The music of the film was directed by Nadeem Saifee and Shravan while the songs were sung by Kumar Sanu, Babul Supriyo, Alka Yagnik, Bali Brahmabhatt, Sapna Awasthi, Udit Narayan and Vinod Rathod.

There has been a trend in the Bollywood of producing wither the romantic movies or the movies like these based on action and comedy. The movie is also a love story between a young girl and a guy. The story of the movie revolves around Barkha ( Ayesha Jhulka ) and Vishal ‘Vicky’ Kapoor ( Vinod Khanna ). Both of them love each other very much and wanted to marry soon. Their life was heading in a good way and everything was fine until one day.

The twist in the story comes when Barkha come across a wounded man lying on a roadside and she decides to help him. She gets him hospitalized and treated. When this wounded man recovered, Barkha gets to know that he is some infamous gangster named Vishal Kapoor. Vishal Kapoor aka Vicky Kapoor liked what she did for him, gets her employed and now wanted to marry her. When he proposed to her, she lets him down saying that she is going to marry Vicky. Vishal then decides to tell her the whole truth about his identity.
