The action movie Elaan was released on January 14, 2005 under the banner of Venus Records & Tapes. The movie was directed by Vikram Bhatt and produced by Ganesh Jain and Ratan Jain. The main roles were enacted by Arjun Rampal, Rahul Khanna, Amisha Patel and John Abraham while the roles of Lara Dutta and Mithun Chakraborty were also important. The music of the film was directed by Anu Malik and the songs were sung by Udit Narayan, Sunidhi Chauhan, K K, Alka Yagnik and Sonu Nigam.

Producing movie with more than one hero has been the special interest of Bollywood. Elaan also have five heroes in lead roles Arjun Rampal, John Abraham, Rahul Khanna, Amisha Patel and Lara Dutta. The movie is also important to Mithun Chakrobarty who marks his comeback to the world of cinema with this movie. The movie showcases the battle of a man against extortion and mureder by the symbol of crime Baba Sikander ( Mithun Chakraborthy ). He deals in murder, kidnapping and also drugs.

Baba is a sign of terror and his one call can end anyone’s life any time. He is not bounded by any region whether be it his own place or some international place and also do not care about any law. His terror is spreading at a fast rate throughout the world. But one daring man stood up against him, he is Karan Shah ( Rahul Khanna ) who announced that he will not only bring him back to India but also treat him with the kind of attention he needed. He forms a team with Arjun ( Arjun Rampal ), an ex-cop, Abhimanyu ( John Abraham ), a criminal, Sonia ( Lara Dutta ), a bar dancer, and Priya ( Amisha Patel ) who is a TV reporter.
