Gaddar the romantic thriller was released on June 9, 1995 under the banner of Shetty films. The movie also had some good action. Gaddar was directed by Ram Shetty and the producer of the movie was S R Shetty. The leading roles in the film were played by Sunil Shetty, Sonali Bendre, Harish, Alok Nath while Kiran Kumar, Mohan Joshi, Reema Lagoo also had important roles. Nameez Ejaz was the dialogue writer and the movie was edited by A Mutthu. The music of the film was given by Nadeem Saifee and Shravan Kumar.

The story revolves around two very close friends Vijay ( Harish ) and Sunny (Sunil Shetty ) who study in the same college. Sunny belongs to a very reach family and has bully nature. On the other hand Vijay is simple and is from a poor family. Sunny’s dad was the owner of some part of the college land and had good ranking in the society. Sunny and Harish were so close that they even loved the same girl Priya ( Sonali Bandre ).

Sunny wanted to use Harish for his benefit. But Harish, understanding the situation does not fell in Sunny’s trap and betrays him. Sunny’s dad by using his power forces the college authorities to teach Harish a lesson. Sunny wanted to take revenge but in his own manner so he gets more close to Vijay and his family. The interesting part in the movie is who gets Priya’s love. The movie is basically a suspense drama.
