The romantic thriller Gangster has been released on April 28, 2006 under the banner of Vishesh Films. The movie was directed by Anurag Basu and produced by Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt. The actors in important roles were Emraan Hashmi, Shiney Ahuja, Kangna Ranaut and Vicky Ahuja. Gulshan Grover was alo there in the film but in a special appearance. Music of the film was directed by Pritam Chakraborty and the songs were sung by K K, Zubin, James, Sunidhi Chauhan and Abhijeet.

With the names like Anurag Basu, Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt associated with the movie Gangster, one could easily expect the movie to be good and do well. The story is about a criminal Daya ( Shiney Ahuja ) who is running away from the law. He is in deep love with Simran ( Kangana Ranaut ). Though they live at different places, they have common dream. Inspite of not meeting for few months, Simran still dreams of settling and having a child with him. On the other hand, Akash ( Emraan Hashmi ) is a care free and fun loving guy. He lives his life day by day and didn’t know what life actually means.

Akash starts spending time with Simran and discovers that life has been harsh on her. As the time progresses he started liking her and fell in love with her. Akash works as a singer in an Indian restaurant and is the only person who can console her. He comes to know the past of Simran and how she changed to a lone person from being a dancer in Mumbai. When Daya comes to know about her relations with Akash, he decided to tur into a simple guy but the problem now was that Simran is now pregnant with Akash’s baby.
