Bollywood family drama, Gharwali Baharwali, written and directed by Sripathi Panditharadhyula Rajaram was released in the year 1988. The movie starred Farooq Sheikh and Kim in lead roles while Chandrashekhar, Ramesh Deo, Madhu Malhotra, Satyendra Kapoor, Javed Khan, Satish Shah and Anuradha Patel were also seen playing important roles in the film. The hit evergreen music of the movie was directed by Swami Ameet while the songs were beautifully crooned by Shabbir Kumar, Kishore Kumar, Asha Bhonsle etc.

The movie starts with a guy named Sunil Khanna ( Farooq Sheikh ), who is living a middle class lifestyle alongwith his parents and a younger sister. After completing his studies, he gets the job of Assistant Sales Manager in Dhabawala & Dhabawala. His parents now wants him to get settled by marrying someone. His parents chooses a girl named Kala ( Anuradha Patel ) for him and wants him to get married with her only. But problem is that Sunil is in love with a beautiful girl named Beena ( Kim ) and wants to get married with her.

Sunil intially refuse to get married with Kala as he loves Kim only. But when his parents puts more pressure on him, he finally agrees to get married with Kala. Soon they both get married to each other. But Sunil still does not want Beena to go away from his life. He wants Beena to live with him in secret. Beena knows that if she will agree to live with Sunil now then she will considered as his mistress. What Beena will choose to do?
