The social movie Gulaal is currently under production and will be releasing on March 13, 2009 under the banner of Zee Limelight. The movie is being directed by Anurag Kashyap and the significant roles are played by Deepak Dobriyal, Aditya Srivastav, Kay Kay Menon and Piyush Mishra while the supporting roles are played by Ayesha Mohan, Raj Singh Chaudhary, Abhimanyu Shekhar Singh and Jessy Randhawa. The music of the film is directed by Piyush Mishra and the sound is given by Kunal Sharma.

Gulaal is a social movie that highlights various realities of today’s life. The movie is about an innocent guy named Dilip Singh ( Raj Singh Chaudhary ) who is visiting Jaipur to complete his higher studies and being accompanied by his faithful servant Bhanwar ( Mukesh Bhatt ). Here he meets a contemporary young man Rananjay Singh “Ransa” who does not believe in traditions. His personality never goes well with his father Jadwal ( Pankaj Jha ) as their ideas always clashes.

Anuja ( Jessy Randhawa ), a professor who ragged Dilip, brought him and his father together thereby building a strong emotional bond between them. Dukey Bana, a powerful local figure who leads an army of radical Rajputs is struggling to get the Rajputana back from the Government of India challenging the very idea of democracy. Kiran ( Ayesha Mohan ) uses Dilip for her own personal interests as after losing elections she tries to win his trust by pretending to be in love with him as he is going to become General Secretary.
