Bollywood romantic action thriller, Gulam, directed by Vikram Bhatt and written by Anjum Rajabali was released on June 19, 1998. The movie starred Aamir Khan and Rani Mukherjee in lead roles while Rajit Kapoor, Sharat saxena, Deepak Tijori, Ashutosh Rana, Dalip Tahil, Mita Vashisht, Akshay Anand and Raju Kher also played significant characters in the film. The melodious hit music of the movie was directed by the well knwon music direct duo Jatin Lalit while the songs were rendered by Kumar Sanu, Aamir Khan, Alka Yagnik, Udit Narayan etc.

Siddharth Marathe ( Aamir Khan ) lives alongwith his elder brother, Jai ( Rajit Kapoor ), who works for notorious underworld don, Ronak Singh ( Sharat Saxena ). Siddharth unwillingly works for Ronak Singh and prefers to hang out with his friends. Siddharth excels in boxing and is aggresive in nature. He often get arrested by police for beating other person for very small reason. But his lawyer, ( Mita Vashisht ) always gets him off. Siddharth then meets with a beautiful girl named Alisha ( Rani Mukherjee ) and falls in love with her.

Siddharth gets changed after meeting Alisha and decides to go straight in his life. But Ronak Singh wants him back in the business. Jai tries to convince him that if he will not change his decision Ronak is going to make their life a hell. But Siddharth refuse to change his decision. Meanwhile Ronak kills Alisha’s brother and the only witness of this murder is Siddharth. What to happen next?
