Bollywood action flick, Gunda, directed by Kanti Shah and written by Bashir Babar was released in the year 1998. The movie starred Mithun Chakrabothy and Archana in lead roles while Mohan Joshi, Mukesh Rishi, Ishrat Ali, Rami Reddy, Deepak Shirke and Shakti Kapoor also played important characters in the film. The hit melodious music of the movie was directed by the well known music director Anand Raj Anand while the songs were rendered by Vinod rathod, Ila Arun etc.

The movis starts with a guy named Shankar ( Mithun Chakraborthy ), who is a renowned criminal of an area. He then decides to lead a peace ful life with no voilence. But soon he changes his decision and starts fighting against the criminals for the benefit of the humanity. Lamboo Aata ( Ishrat Ali ) and Kala Shetty ( Rami Reddy ) are two hardcore criminals of the area who wants to get rid of Shankar as he is the biggest threat for them. Shankar’s sister if brutally raped by the criminals and then his father is also killed by them.

Shankar then decides to leave the city as he consider himself responsible for the death of his father and sister. But soon he realises his mistake and once again returns to the city. But this time he has nothing to lost as he is left all alone in this world. Now he is determined to kill Lamboo Aata and all the criminals associated with him.
