Bollywood action thriller, Gundaraj, directed by Guddu Dhanoa was released on 7 September 1995. The movie starred Ajay Devgan and Kajol in lead roles while Amrish Puri, Asrani, Mohnish Behl, Mohan Joshi, Beena Banerjee and Sharat Saxena also played important roles in the film. The music of the film was given by Anu Malik and Surendra Singh Sodhi while the songs were sung by Kumar Sanu, Alka Yagnik, Alisha Chinay, Sadhana Sargam and Bali Brahmbhatt. The movie recieved average response from the audience.

The movie starts with Ajay Chauhan ( Ajay Devgan ), who is living a happy life with his family which comprises of his father, mother and a beautiful young sister. He gets an interview call for a job in Bombay after completing his education. He goes to Bombay and get selected for the job. He visits temple for thanking god. But there a woman named Pratika Jaitley identifies him as the guy who raped three young girl in a college campus. Ajay is arrested by Police in the charge fo raping three girl.

Ajay denies all this in court but is sentenced to prison. Years later, he return to his house only to find that his dad had killed himself and both his mother and sister are not there anymore. He then meets with an Inspector ( Amrish Puri ) whose daughter was also one of the rape victim in his case. Now Ajay decides to find out why he was framed in that case and by whom? Ritu ( Kajol ), who is a reporter by profession, also help him in his search.
