Haasil was a romantic drama released on May 16, 2003 under the banner of Karma Network Ltd. The movie had been directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia. The main roles in the film were played by Jimmy Shergill, Ashutosh Rana, Hrishita Bhatt and Tinu Anand while the supporting roles were played by Sharat Saxena and Sudhir Pandey. The music of the film was directed by Jatin-Lalit while the songs were sung by Shaan, Shraddha Pandit, Shweta, Javed Ali and Richa Sharma.

Haasil was directed by the new director Tigmanshu Dhulia and featured Jimmy Shergill in the lead role. It is a romantic movie that revolves around Aniruddha Sharma ( Jimmy Shergill ) who lives in a Railway Colony in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, India. While Aniruddha’s father ( Tinu Anand ) is a train driver, his mother is a housewife. He studies in a nearby college and is also a stage actor. He is in deep love with Niharika Singh ( Hrishita Bhatt ) who belongs to a well to do family.

Niharika’s father ( Sharat Saxena ) didn’t like Aniruddha and also asked her to not to meet him but she does meet him secretly. During the college elections, he support Ranvijay Singh ( Irrfan Khan ) who is standing against his rival Gauri Shankar Pandey. Ranvijay is now a friend to him. While Aniruddha helped him to become the college president, he helps him to arrange Aniruddha’s and Niharika’s meeting in a vacant theatre. Ranvijay gives him a gun for his safety but he now becomes the suspect of a murder and was required to be arrested.
