The movie Halla Bol released on January 11, 2008 and comes under the banner of Sunrise Pictures Pvt. Ltd. The movie is classified under the genre of social film and is directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and is produced by Suresh Sharma and Abdol Samee Siddiqui. The movie stars Ajay Devgan, Vidya Balan, Pankaj Kapoor, Ruby Bhatia,  Mukesh Tiwari, Lekh Tandon, Sayali Bhagat, Darshan Jariwala, Anupam Shyam, Iqbal Dosani and some special appearances by Sridevi, Boney Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Pahlaj Nihalani, Neeraj Vora and Tusshar Kapoor. The story of the movie is about a small town guy Ashfaque ( Ajay Devgan ) who wanted to be famous and make his career as an actor in the hindi film industry. He was working as an artist in a street theatre group under a decoit Sidhu ( Pankaj Kapur ) who has transformed to a good man now.

The street play is a great way to make public aware. Ashfaque’s hard work and determination pays off by giving him a chance to work in the films. He changed his name to Sameer Khan and started getting new roles in the new movies. His skills gave him a lot of success in short time. Soon he became an actor capable of acting any role. But he was so indulged in his work that he forgot his real identity and became a corrupted person who just thinks about himself. This new weakness possessed by him makes him lose his wife Sneha ( Vidya Balan ) and other loved ones. An incident at a party made him realize his inner self.
