Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai was a romantic comedy released on August 24, 2000 under the banner of S K Films Enterprises. The movie was directed by Satish Kaushik and produced by Boney Kapoor and Surinder Kapoor. The top roles in the movie were enacted by Anil Kapoor, Sonali Bendre, Aishwarya Rai and Puru Raaj Kumar while the roles of Mukesh Rishi and Anang Desai were also important. Music of the film was directed by Sanjeev-Darshan and the songs were sung by Hema Sardesai, Kumar Sanu, Vinod Rathod, Kavita Krishnamurthy and Udit Narayan.

The movie Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai was the remake of Telugu hit ‘Pelli Cheskundam’ and features several stars and comedians in lead roles. The story of the movie revolves around a rape victim Preeti ( Aishwarya Rai ) and how a strange man Avinash ( Anil Kapoor ) helps her to live her life. The movie also shows her struggle. She was rejected by the family and society. Her rape was a result of her stand against the crime and her stand with the principle. Avinash, who knew her, offered her to live in his house. Preeti had no option but to live in the same house.

Avinash had two kids in his house living with him who are his step-brother and sister. He came to know about the extra marital affair of his father from his dying mother and thus brought the innocent kids to give them their position in the society. Avinash gradually started loving Preeti but she was so low on self esteem that she couldn’t even think of marrying anyone now. Khushi ( Sonali Bendre ) wanted him to bring him back to his father’s place and also wanted to impress him.
