Hamara Khandaan was a romantic drama released in the year of 1988. The movie was directed by Anwar Pasha and produced by Tahir Hussain. The lead roles in the movie were enacted by Rishi Kapoor, Amrish Puri, Farha and Alok Nath while the presence of Kiran Juneja, Asha Parekh, Om Shiv Puri and Reema Lagoo supported the film. The music of the film was directed by Laxmikant Kudalkar and Pyarelal while the songs were sung by Shabbir Kumar and Alka Yagnik. The lyrics in the movie were given by Sameer.

The movie Hamara Khandaan was a romantic family drama that revolves mostly around Vishal ( Rishi Kapoor ) who belongs to a wealthy Hindu family. He lives in a simple family consisting of his father Chandraprakash Singh ( Amrish Puri ), and his mother who is a housewife, Sharda ( Asha Parekh ). The family lived happily with each other but always felt the need of the missing bride of their son Vishal. Since the family is of Hindu people, they wanted the bride to be of the same religion.

But the twist in the story comes when Vishal came across a Catholic girl named Ruby Miranda ( Farha ). Vishal soon falls in love with her. Mr. Miranda ( Alok Nath ) who is Ruby’s dad, approves of her relation and marriage with Vishal. But the problem to their love story was posed by Chandraprakash who didn’t even want Vishal to marry any one with lower wealth status than theirs, leave the religion thing aside. The more obstacles were provided when Chandraprakash got to know that Vishal is not his son.
