Bollywood musical family drama, Hanste Zakhm, directed by Chetan Anand was released in the year 1973. The movie starred Navin Nischol and Priya Rajvansh in lead roles while Kamal Kapoor, Jeevan, Nadira, Balraj Sahni, Satyendra Kapoor, Bharat Kapoor, Yunus Parvez and Achala Sachdev also played important roles in the film. The hit music of the movie was directed by the very talented music director Madan Mohan while the songs were rendered by Mohammed Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar etc.

The movie starts with a wealthy guy named Somesh ( Navin Nischol ), who lives alongwith his parents. Somesh’s father wants him to take interest in their family business but Somesh always refuse to do so as he is an alcoholic and a big womenizer. His father then ask him to get married with a girl named Rekha Mahendru ( Suman Sikand ), who is the daughter of a police officer, Dinanath Mahendru ( Balraj Sahni ). But once again Somesh refuses to oblige his father’s saying and as a result of this, he is asked to leave the home.

His father realizes his mistake and ask him to come back to home. He also promise Somesh that he will not force him to marry Rekha at all. His father then organizes a party and invites Somesh’s friends and all their close ones. But they all get shocked when a young beautiful women named Chanda ( Priya Rajvansh ) enters in the party alongwith Somesh. Somesh announces that he will marry Chanda only despite the fact that she is a prostitute by profession.
