Hanuman was a mythological animation movie released on October 21, 2005 under the banners of Sahara One, Percept Picture Company and Silvertoons. The movie was directed by V G Samant and produced by Purva Naresh and Sumit Kumar. Since it was an animation movie there was no actor in the film but the voice was given by Mukesh Khanna. Music of the film was directed by Tapas Relia and the songs were sung by Shaan, Sonu Nigam, Shankar Mahadevan, Palash Sen and Swapnil Bandodkar.

Bollywood has been busy producing mythological movies over the time and Hanuman was the one of the firsts to be produced. The movie Hanuman is about the life and mischiefs played by our Hindu mythological hero Hanuman. The movie is also recorded as the first Indian animation film in the Limca Book of Records’ 2004 edition. The movie starts as Lord Hanuman asks Lord Brahma to go to earth to enjoy life of a kid. Lord Brahma agrees to send him as the son of a Pandit and his wife Sheila.

The parents named the child as Maruti on realizing that he is the avatar of the God. Maruti possessed extraordinary powers and wanted to save mankind from evils. Hanuman was a naughty boy and troubled all the saints with his powers. Maruti had his good friends in Munni, Minkoo and Daddu but was fighting the evils of one-eyed man, Guru Shukracharya, Rahu-Ketu and Aghori. Lord Vishnu and Lord Narad were also in the film. The movie was a nice way to attract kids and teach them some mythology as well.
