Bollywood musical famil drama, Hathon Ki Lakerein, directed by Chetan Anand and written by Veera Singh was released in the year 1986. The movie starred Sanjeev Kumar and Zeenat Aman in lead roles while Priya Rajvansh, Kamal Kapoor, Arun Mathur, Sudhir Dalvi, Shubha Khote, Bharat Kapoor, Jackie Shroff and Dina Pathak also played important characters in the film. The melodious music of the movie was composed by the music director Pyare Mohan while the songs were rendered by Mahendra Kapoor, Jatin Pandit, Alka Yagnik etc.

Young and beautiful Geeta Singh ( Zeenat Aman ) is living a poor lifestyle alongwith her mother. Her mother works as a nurse in the hospital run by Dr. Bhanu Pratap ( Sanjeev Kumar ). Geeta works as a singer and dancer in a hotel. Geeta come across a handsome guy named Lalit Mohan Singh ( Jackie Shroff ) and falls in love with him. Lalit is living a wealthy lifestyle alongwith his father. Lalit tells his father about Geeta. His father refuse to accept her as his daughter-in-law and ask Lalit to go abroad for higher studies.

Jatin goes to abroad leaving behind a pregnant Geeta. After few months, Geeta gives birth to a child but her mother tells her that the child was born lifeless. After few years, Lalit returns to India after the death of his father. He meets with Geeta and soon they both get married to each other. Geeta gets pregnant again but this time she once again gives birth to a lifeless child. Doctor also tells Jatin that Geeta will not be abel to concieve again. It is then Geeta’s mother reveals that Geeta’s first son is alive.
